Riots and looting continued into Monday night, in Manhattan, ahead of an 11pm (03:00 GMT) curfew announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio amid nation-wide protests over the killing of George Floyd. People could be seen smashing store fronts, before storming in and running out with looted goods. Later on, police reinforcements were deployed, and police officers could be seen chasing people, arresting some of them and asking others to leave. Cuomo and de Blasio declared a city-wide curfew for New York City on Monday, beginning at 23:00 local time (03:00 GMT) and ending at 05:00 (09:00 GMT) the following morning. Protests and demonstrations have taken place across the world, having begun in the US in reaction to Floyd's death, with riots and looting also occurring in some areas.
