The Diary of Merer: Is this Proof that Khufu Built the Great Pyramid of ...

Ancient Architects

The Diary of Merer forms part of the oldest Papyri ever discovered in Egypt, known as the Wadi el-Jarf papyri. It dates back to 4,500 years ago, during the reign of King Khufu of the 4th Dynasty. Just about every single article, paper, website and video on the subject of this diary or logbook repeatedly says it documents the building of the Great Pyramid, which is said to be the first and largest pyramid on the Giza Plateau. But it doesn't. The diary merely mentions the transportation of stone from the Tura quarries to 'Akhet Khufu'. In this video I analyse the meaning of the words in the diary or logbook of Inspector Merer. The reason many Egyptologists say it relates to the great pyramid is because of 'Akhet Khufu', which the experts say is the 4th dynasty name of the Great Pyramid of Egypt. On the other hand, I disagree and in this video, I explain why I believe 'Akhet Khufu' is merely the Giza Plateau. Instead of the diary or logbook documenting the transportation of stone for the Great Pyramid, in truth, it could well be for any structure or project on the Giza plateau, from a royal palace, a temple, statues or walls.
