The Osiris story is the most influential and elaborate story in ancient Egyptian mythology. The earliest scenes from the Osiris myth are in the Pyramid Texts. They appeared on the walls of chambers in pyramids during the 24th century BCE. Though the texts imply this story is from an even earlier date.
