Gavrinis is a small island in the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany, France and features some of the most impressive neolithic art on the planet. The passage cairn aligns to the Winter Solstice sunrise and has 52 stones, 49 of them with intricate carvings on them. Hugh Newman and Jim Vieira visit the site (by boat) with Howard Crowhurst (http://www.epistemea.fr), who shares his research on the site and how it connects geodetically to other sites in Brittany and even Newgrange in Ireland. Recent dating of the material at the site puts it at over 6500 years old and the massive roof slab was part of huge menhir that was separated and placed in various major sites around Brittany. The team also sail to a double stone circle that is now partly submerged on a nearby island called Er Lannic.
