On September 5th, Mars will appear super close to the Moon late in the evening. Look toward the East, low in the sky, and you can't miss it. Mars is the bright, reddish point of light just left of the Moon. Take a look to your southern sky to see Jupiter and Saturn in front of the Sagittarius constellation. On September 6th, you'll find the Moon extremely close to Mars in the predawn sky. If you're up early and can step outside for a look, they'll be only a couple of degrees apart, meaning they'll appear in the same field of view if you take a look with most binoculars. Keep watching the Red Planet as it light up the night sky for the rest of this year. The year 2020 showcases Mars' brightest performance until the year 2035.
