[Music] a user by the name of our dark lord responded to an ask reddit post where he posed the question to the doctors nurses police paramedics etc of reddit did you ever have a deathbed confession and what was it did you feel like it brought relief to the person confessing the user posted that his father had suffered a large heart attack and needed to undergo a quintupled bypass along with various other surgeries to save his life in order to perform these surgeries successfully they needed a familiar donor to ensure that the tissue wouldn't be rejected in his body wanting to stop at nothing to save his father's life the commenter agreed to undergo the tests to see if he was a match him along with his siblings waited to see if any of them could be the match needed to save their father's life that's when the commenter got the most shocking news of his life doctors told him that he wasn't a match he was heartbroken at the fact that he wouldn't be able to save his father's life the reason he wasn't a match well it turns out that the commenter and his father were not related the man who had lived his whole life knowing as dad was not his biological father not wanting to upset his father and what could have been his last moments on earth the commenter let the incident slip to the back of his mind and affirmed that even if they were not biologically related he would still be his dad the commenter then confronted his mother in private who confessed that she had known all this time that he wasn't the real dad but couldn't bring himself to tell either of them further down in the thread the commenter confirms that he now knows why he doesn't look like any of his siblings had it not been for his father's emergency surgery who knows if the commenter would have ever found out the truth number four in 2018 a man only identified as sean was lying in an auckland county hospital bed receiving end-of-life care for cancer in extreme pain and sensing that the end was near he called over a nurse and made a startling confession as he was lying in his bed he turned to the nurse and said i looked into their eyes saw fear and pulled the trigger i was a contracted hitman and a gang he went on to explain how in the 1960s in new zealand he'd fallen in with the wrong people and before he knew it he was part of a gay and being ordered to take care of people for 50 years sean lived with the guilt eating away at it knowing that he had blood on his hands but could still never tell another soul the crimes would have remained a mystery had sean not confessed in 2018. in a bizarre twist the medical staff never went to the police to report sean as they were concerned about doctor patient confidentiality and a breach of confidence a paper has even been published by the auckland city hospital and the auckland university's medical and law school delving into the ethics and legality surrounding the case of sean his doctors and nurses noticed how much better sean was doing after his confession stuff.co.nz said as he talked he had a remarkable transformation becoming calm and measured with obvious relief showing in his voice and body language before the confession he'd been in too much pain to walk or even eat the next day he was able to do both one nurse told shawn to write down his confession so that after he had passed it could be given to the police who would be able to investigate sean agreed but police have no record of ever receiving such a confession number three on march 5th 1974 amy bilig called her father and asked him if she could borrow some money so that she could spend the evening with friends her father agreed but told amy that she would need to go to his office to collect the money not wanting to take public transport and with this being the 70s in miami amy hitchhiked a ride when amy never showed up to her dad's office or met with friends the billig family reported her missing and that's when their nightmare began amy's family began receiving anonymous tips that she'd been kidnapped by a motorcycle gang known as the outlaws a chapter of the gang had been passing through coconut grove on the day that amy disappeared and was making their way down to daytona to an annual bike week celebration amy's case soon went cold with various sightings and false leads coming into the police they felt powerless that was until november of 1975 when a biker by the name of paul branch of the pagans motorcycle gang contacted the billik family claiming that he had spent time with amy he claimed that she had been his old lady and that he had treated her well never beating or assaulting her he was even able to tell the billig family that amy had a two inch appendectomy scar a detail that had never been made public he also informed the family that he'd lost track of amy after he went to prison after he was released amy was long gone and he'd simply been told that she'd been traded off on his deathbed paul branch contacted the billig family one last time stating that the gang had been responsible for amy's passing and the other stories were false in order to throw off the investigation paul claims that on the day that amy went missing the pagans brought her to a party in the everglades at some point in the evening things went wrong and amy was murdered with her body being thrown into an alligator infested swamp police ran with this lead and interviewed members of the pagans that were in miami that week but every single member had protested their innocence paul branch provided no further details to the billik family around the circumstances of his frightening confession number two james washington almost got away with murder this is the case of a confession gone wrong in 2009 james washington of tennessee made a startling confession in prison after he had suffered a heart attack not wanting to take secrets to the grave he confessed to a guard that he'd been responsible for the murder of joyce goodner in 1995. the guard told nbc he kind of got as best as he could motioned and said i have something to tell you i have something to get off my conscience and you need to hear this i killed somebody i beat her to a pulp luckily for police washington survived and made a full recovery washington had been a person of interest in the murder of goodner but there was never enough evidence to charge washington with the crime it turns out that he made the confession for two reasons the first of course thinking he was going to die but the second reason was that in the back of his mind he thought if there were a slim chance that he could survive he would be safe from prosecution as the statute of limitations had passed or so he thought the statute of limitations in tennessee does not run out when it comes to serious crimes such as murder meaning that washington could be tried for the crime using the confession the police reopened the case and slowly but surely built their case against him washington went to trial in november of 2012 where his legal team argued that the confession was inadmissible a quote from an nbc news article reads he did take the confession back and during closing arguments there was an indication that he was hallucinating the defense had presented proof earlier in the trial as to what effect the drugs he had taken were having on him despite his pleas of innocence james washington was ordered to serve at least 51 years for the murder of joyce goodner washington had initially been in prison for unrelated charges that would have seen him paroled but instead he'll be serving life all due to this last minute confession number one we've seen that a confession can ruin a person's life such as the case of james washington but this confession had the opposite effect the chilling confession of alice mogg proves how ineffective our justice system can be and can lead to innocent people spending years behind bars for a crime that they did not commit on may 17 1975 waymon e camila jr was sentenced to serve at least 15 years in prison for second-degree burglary and sexual assault this sentence was part of a plea deal had he not accepted these charges he was looking at 45 years inside for rape the story of the injustice towards camille jr started earlier that year when alice had reported him to the police for breaking into her house assaulting her and stealing her money her version of events was that junior had taken advantage of her as she was very drunk at the time but the truth is far more sinister upon her death bed in 1987 the then 76 year old confessed to a postal worker who found her on a deathbed i put a man in jail she revealed that junior had never even touched her and she fabricated the whole story she was scared of the implications of her a white woman being in a sexual relationship with a black man alice told the postal worker i said he raped me but he never touched me i let him go in my bed because he was so drunk she was scared that she would be evicted and possibly lose her job and search was standing within the community so instead she let him into her apartment as he was very drunk she took him to bed where he passed out she stole his money and then called the police to report that he had attacked her in june of 1987 raymond camille jr was exonerated and released from the sussex correctional institute of georgia town after serving 12 years for a crime that he did not commit he told newspapers i was so light and rejoiced it's a good feeling when all that weight gets off your back and you're living free i hold no grudges if i'd been bitter all these years i would have torn up my own life god kept telling me to keep on he wanted me to make it thank you guys so much for watching if you like this video
