You know peep's We have no single, moral and rational system of justice on the this planet. One appropriate for all members of a thinking specie. In every political regime more criminals get away than are caught. And even the definition of what constitutes a crime is relative to the regime. Worse, our adopted societal system is itself a crime against humanity.
When a criminal is caught they are locked up at enormous expense to the victims, executed, or go free within a short time. In all cases, there is never restitution for victims. The criminal, the victim or society does not receive justice. There is simple solution to this that does not require a political police, court or prison system. Plus one that ensures restitution for crimes. On… a Planetary Court of Justice describes such a system.
Today there is a general outcry for an “International Court of Human Rights”. Presumably based on enforcing the “Declaration of Human Rights”.
(because currently they do not enforce them at all unless you happen to live in a poor country that is unarmed and unable to defend their country from being pillaged and looted)
But since no one on this planet seems to have and use a proper definition and understanding of justice[ 2 ] and other operative words related to criminal activities they have little chance of creating a proper justice system.
Justice: “The condition that exists when all injustices are eliminated”.
&
Injustice: “When there is a crime for which there is no moral and rational recourse”.
There is much talk these days about trying politicians for their crimes. And some are being tried. There is talk about the proper courts and venues for such trials. Whether the criminals should be tried in their own country or in some supposedly “neutral” country.
There is often talk about “justice”. But usually without defining it. If there is a definition it is quite long and not very clear. There is talk of the possible penalties for the criminal. Usually this is either imprisonment for “life” or to be executed.
There is rarely thought of doing something that will prevent recurrence of the crime[ 3 ]. Feeling that these things—all offences—will inevitably happen. Perhaps because it is in the nature of our specie. Which is not true.
Crime: “A successful act of coercion”.
&
Coercion: “Any attempted and intentional interference with the property of another”.
It is not in the nature of “man”, the specie. But in the faulty societal system we have adopted for ourselves. We can rid ourselves of this system and adopt one that works. That is easy As with all problems, it only requires the validation for rightness[ 4 ] of the knowledge we are using. And, when that fails, the creation of new and useful knowledge to replace the failed hypotheses[ 5 ]. And the implementation of this new and useful knowledge.
Right“ “That which is based on true premises, valid and logical thought processes, and is corroborated by history and the laws of nature. And the resulting action—if any—is moral.
Hypothesis: “A suggested but uncorroborated explanation for the cause of an event or phenomenon”. This is in contrast to
Theory: “The explanation for the cause of a phenomenon or event that is right on an absolute basis”.
It also requires intellectual honesty[ 6 ]. Meaning that when cherished fallacies are shown to be incorrect, that they are no longer accepted and used. As in the middle of the 19th Century, when most medical doctors were aristocrats. Thought that because of this they were “born clean”, and therefore did not need to wash their hands. Hundreds of thousands of people died because of belief in this fallacy. As physician refused to wash their hands, even when people like Joseph Lister and Ignaz Semmelweis proved that it saved lives.
Intellectual Honesty “The ability to accept a theory which—by definition—is right on an absolute basis, when it conflicts with currently held beliefs on the subject”.
And most people today seem to believe that democracy creates individual freedom. When the two concepts —democracy and freedom—are mutually exclusive concepts. Democracy actually creates institutionalised slavery. The condition in which someone other than the individual control the life and property of each individual. A condition and concept that is the operative definition of slavery.
