Syria: Calm returns to Daraa following Moscow-brokered truce deal
Life could be seen returning to normal in Daara, Sunday, following a new peace deal backed by Moscow. Bulldozers were also seen clearing the debris of post-war destruction in the southern district of Daraa al-Balad after the rebels left the city, known as the cradle of opposition forces. Russian and Syrian flags flew across the city. According to the truce agreement, those militants who wish to stay in the city must hand their weapons to the authorities. Over 38,000 civilians were forced to flee Daraa al-Balad, with the fightings escalating since July, the United Nations reported.
