A group of 20 protesters gathered in Nuremberg on Wednesday to call on the state government to uphold the right to assemble amid coronavirus restrictions.
Protesters gathered at the German city's 'Human Rights Street,' under the reported motto of "Protect health and fundamental rights."
In order to maintain the minimum distance, markings were glued to the floor for demonstrators to use. The demonstration was also cordoned off by tape from the outside.
"Many medical professionals are already warning that we will have more victims from the measures than from coronavirus and that cannot be," protest organiser and Ecological Democratic Party (ODP) member Christian Rechholz said.
The demonstration marks the first public rally in northern Bavaria after the state government took strict measures to contain the coronavirus.
