Protesters gathered outside of Miami's City Hall on Wednesday, rallying to reopen the economy across Florida.
Around a dozen protesters were reportedly there, including small business owners and one politician.
"You can't shut down one business and keep opening grocery stores and liquor stores. This is not fair," one protester said.
"We are much safer out here than we are cooped up at home. That is the whole point, open up the beaches, open up the parks, let people out of their house, let people back to work," said congressional candidate Juan Fiol.
A counter protester was also present, saying that "the majority of Miamians and the country want to stay closed." The counter-protester accused protesters of "astruturfing," defined by him as "fake protest in order to gin up controversy."
Similar protests demanding the end of lockdown measures implemented to slow the spread of the virus have been held in several other states in recent days, including in New York, Texas and Michigan.
